Lords & Knights - Trickel Defence

I am going to teach you absolutely everything about trickling!

First you must know why it is so important to trickle. You guys are trickling so it is obvious you know how important it actually is.

1. Trickling a castle will kill off more offense than stacking a castle. Forts and upgrades allow you to kill X-amount of offense while using minimal D.

2. Trickling a castle can take place days in advance (depending on what notice you were given when the first attack was launched) this will save you a lot of headaches and time if you can trickle your castles before the attacks land.

3. Trickling your castles allows you to send minimal D out while keeping a large portion at home for the HAMMER.

🔰Defence Guidelines/Training🔰

So the aim of trickling is when you are under attack to keep 101 or more troops in your castle at the beginning of each batzle round.

So each battle round is 10 min long so if you had an attack landing at 08.01 the first battle would start at 08.11.

You must have 101 troops in there at the very start or you would lose your castle in the first round (providing they send silver and there is no way to tell this from the incoming attack)

You can only lose a maximum of half your troops in each battle round so you have 1000 defence you could lose 500 of those. If you have 300 you could lose 150 depending on if your attacker sends the specific troops to kill your defence so they send archers to kill your spearmen for example.

So it could look like this

08.11 1000

08.21 500

08.31 250

08.41 125

08.51 63

So unless you get support to land at your castle for the 08.51 battle round you would lose.

Your support needs to land before each round starts so i aim to send to land half way so landing between 08.42 and 08.50 preferably halfway so 08.46

You should always send support troops in at least 55's and it could be anything except hand or oxcarts.

HAVE I LOST YOU?

Now that you know WHY we trickle I will show you multiple trickling techniques to defend your castles!

METHODS

1. Keep trickle - Send your units in for copper in waves of 54.

**You can start trickling your castle as early as 7 hours out if you send 1 ox and 54 defensive 01units.

•This is a great self-trickle.

2. Recall trickle - send all your troops to a nearby inactive or VM castle and recall your troops when necessary.

•This is the biggest waste of time, hardest way to trickle known to man!!

3. Free Castle/Inactice Trickle - attack free castles with 1 lancer and 55 defensive units from 1-50 fields out and/or attack inactives with 54 units of D but make sure you have a support already at their castle to bounce the attack back.

**This requires a ton of prep work and is really hard to accomplish and acknowledge any mistakes or holes.

•When mastered this trickle can be one of the best trickling for hours in a matter of minutes. Some people highlight castles they mapped out.

4. Resource Trickle - send a resource to players from 1-50 fields out with 54 units of D.

**Requires a ton of prep work but is flawless.

•IMO the second best form of trickling! It works great and does everything you want in under 15 minutes.

5. Friendship Trickle - THE KEY TO TRICKLING!!

**Rely on your alliance and allies to trickle your castle for you.

*The second you see a coordinated attack on one of your castles you need to post a trickle sheet so everyone can fill in the trickles before attacks even arrive.

**This allows you to save all your D for a hammer and help trickle your friends and allies near you. With this trickle your castle can be trickled from 100+ fields away. You just have to make sure you have no holes in the trickle and that everyone sent 54 units. You also must update the list just so your allies don't get mad that a time slot was trickled multiple times.

•The best form of trickle. 5 mins prep work and with all the information correct it is easy to trickle.

A further in-depth explanation of #4:

It involves a little bit of prep work...

Before being attacked, highlight non free castles to get a highlighted castle at each distance from 1 to 18fields. (This will give you a 6hour trickle.) You can do more or less as needed.

Then, 5 minutes before the attack lands, send 52-54 troops at xbow speed to deliver 0 resources to each highlighted castle. (Make sure you leave 101+ troops in your castle, as your trickle won't start until round 2 of the fighting.)

Xbows move at 10min/field, so 10mins there and 10mins back means that your troops will arrive home in 20*x minutes (where x is the distance in fields).

So your first wave (at 5mins before landing) will come in half way through the second round, the fourth round, sixth round, etc..

In order to get the odd-numbered rounds covered, wait 10mins after your first wave, and then repeat.

6 hours of trickle defense in 10 minutes of work.
