Lords & Knights - Building For Beginner's Guide

Home Public Tools Private Tools Guide

Brand new to L&K and unsure how to build your castle? This thread is for you!

Day 1:

1. Start Lumberjack to Level 2

2. Start Ore Mine to Level 2

3. Go to Tavern and start the mission "Overtime Wood" (keep doing this as much as you can)

4. Build Tavern 2

5. Build Ore Mine 3

6. Build Lumberjack 3

7. Once Tavern 2 is done send your other 5 spearmen on "Overtime Stone" (keep this going as much as you can)

8. Build Quarry 2

9. Keep building up your resources and your stores for the rest of the day.

10. Build farms only as needed

Day 2:

On this day hopefully you have some resources saved up while you slept.

1. Make your tavern level 3

2. Learn Longbow

3. Build 5 spearmen and 15 archers when the longbow research is done

4. Keep building resources and storage

5. Now you can do "Overtime Ore" and "Hunting" (Keep doing these as much as you can)

6. Make sure your library is level two today

7. Build farms only as needed

Day 3:

1. Build Library 3

2. Learn Stirrups as soon as you can

3. Build at least 1 cart at the market (I would make up to five)

4. Build at least two Armored horsemen (make two for every one cart that you make)

5. Once these are done continue building your resources

6. As soon as you have 1 cart and two horse attack an npc castle (these castles are castles from the computer and they look differently)

7. If you attack during the day you will not lose any men and you will get resources. I normally get in the upper 300's. Only attack that castle about every 6-8 hours. My last attack netted me 120 wood, and 118 each of stone and ore. Keep doing this as much as possible.

8. Keep building your resources and storage.

9. Research Beer Testing-this increases all production by 5%.

10. Build farms only as needed

11. I would also build 20 more spearmen and 20 more archers if you can so you can complete "Chop Wood" Mission in the tavern. This gives you 50-100 wood only, but this is nice because you will get too much wood. You can use that extra wood to trade in for other resources or even silver or copper. Personally, I just kept building up my storage, because I did not want that low rate of return. I also kept my lumberjack down and focused on building my ore mine and quarry higher than my lumberjack so until it leveled off. I usually keep my lumberjack 2-3 levels lower than my quarry and my ore mine and I still have a surplus of wood.

Other suggestions:

1. Keep researching as much as you can, it will take forever to complete it all.

2. Keep your missions going. This is also good to hide your forces as if someone spy's on you they won't see them (this is a theory and not proven yet).

3. Keep your two horses and 1 cart out. If you attack at night you will probably lose 1 armored horse, but the rewards are well worth it. (I have sent out at as many as 5 horse and still one dies.)

After week 1:

Once you are done with week one your resource fields should be in their lower to middle twenties at least, and a decent amount of research done. This is when I would start working on building my fortifications. I would also consider to start building troops up. While you are building those, if you have too many resources I would work on my keep and then start trading in for a good amount of copper first. I would like about 100 to start with once I get out of beginner's protection. Once I got to about 100 copper I would start trading it in for silver. Keep doing missions and keep attacking those npc castles. Also watch for other castles when they get out of beginner's protection that are still really low. They probably don't have many men and a small army can net a large return by pillaging them. I have written down the cords and directions with the exact day and time that they come out of beginner's protection.
